The police launched a large-scale search for witnesses in the death of 37-year-old Tjeerd van Seggeren in De Westereen in Friesland. Van Seggeren was found dead in a meadow on Sunday morning, July 9th. He attended the FreezeForce music festival the night before, ANP reports.
A body was found in a meadow in the Friesland village of De Westereen on Sunday morning. The victim was identified as 37-year-old Tjeerd van Seggeren from Kollumerzwaag. The police are still investigating, but the initial conclusion is that the man was killed in a crime.
A helicopter pilot was taken to a police station for questioning after he caused a panic at the Retropop music festival on Saturday night with a nose diving stunt. The organizers of the festival called the stunt an "individual and rash action", RTL Nieuws reports.
Festival attendees were watching a performance by Di-rect and Lucas Hamming when the low flying helicopter suddenly started a nose dive right above their heads. The pilot pulled up before reaching the ground and people below, and no one was injured. But many did get quite a fright.
Justin Bieber will be performing at Pinkpop this year. The Canadian singer is listed as one of the headliners of the three-day festival and will go on stage on June 3rd, the organizers announced on Wednesday, NU.nl reports.
The Pinkpop performance forms part of Bieber's Purpose World Tour.
Bieber is the third headliner announced for the festival, which will take place on June 3rd, 4th and 5th in Landgraaf, Limburg. Other performances this year include Green Day, System of a Down, Kings of Leon and Martin Garrix.
The organizers of the Lowlands festival in Biddinghuizen, Flevoland have announced 22 new acts for the multi-day event. The line-up will include the Concertgebouw Orchestra, for which 120 musicians will take to the stage.

The Canals Festival in Amsterdam has drawn a record number of 63,000 visitors this year. The Prinsengracht concert, that was held on the last day of the Canal Festival, had the highest ratings ever during the broadcast of the concert on Saturday evening. 919.000 Viewers saw the concert on TV.
During the 16th edition of the Canals Festival, visitors could listen for 10 days at 96 different locations in Amsterdam to classical music. In total there were 228 concerts, more than ever.
A total of 60,000 music fans visited this weekend the 44th edition of Pinkpop music festival. More than 32,000 people came for the weekend to South Limburg and approximately 28,000 festival visitors kept it in a day. This was reported by Pinkpop Boss Jan Smeets on Sunday evening.
Last year the oldest music festival in the Netherlands was sold out with 79,000 visitors.
