Five Dutch motorcyclists were injured in traffic accidents in Germany over the past days. One, a 43-year-old man, succumbed to his injuries on Monday. The current condition of the others is not known, De Gelderlander reports.
The police reprimanded a man in Zandvoort on Tuesday for letting an 11-year-old girl drive a sports motorcycle on the crowded Boulevard Barnaart.
The girl was sitting on the bike between the man and the gas tank as they drove over the boulevard. At one point the girl took over steering the bike, and the man put his hands on her shoulders.
"The girl thereby controlled the 1000 cc sports bike and drove over the busy boulevard in the direction of Bloemendaal", the Zandvoort police said on Facebook. "Both were also only dressed in swimwear and flip-flops."
The Amsterdam police noted down the details of some 200 motorcyclists during a joint trip through the city on Sunday. These bikers will soon receive fines for various traffic violations, the police said.
Between 900 and 1,000 motorcyclists gathered on Sloterweg at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday for a joint run organized on social media. The Amsterdam police deployed all available motorcycle officers and a number of other units in police cars and undercover cars to keep an eye on the event.
An accident involving a motorcycle and at least three cars closed the A1 highway towards Amsterdam between Naarden-West and Diemen on Thursday morning. Traffic information service VID calls it a "serious accident" and expects it to cause many traffic problems.

A 20-year-old man has died after the driver of the motorcycle he was riding on crashed into a house Saturday afternoon. The driver, 21, was also injured in the accident on Dorpsstraat in Riethoven, Noord-Brabant.
