The police are investigating a report of a woman trying to abduct a 7-year-old boy from a supermarket on Amperestraat in Nijkerk on Saturday. "We are investigating exactly what happened and are looking for witnesses", the police write on Facebook.

The boy's parents also wrote about the incident on Facebook, warning other parents in the area to be careful, AD reports. The incident happened at a Lidl supermarket on Amperestraat between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

The Tax authorities' investigative department FIOD caught three suspects selling brand-less beer as Heineken and Amstel. Eight businesses in Nijkerk, Putten, Rotterdam, Heusden and Linne were raided on Wednesday. So far no arrests were made, RTL Nieuws reports.

According to FIOD, the suspects bought brand-less beer from abroad, poured it into beer bottles and labeled them with Heineken and Amstel logos. They then sold them at higher prices. 

Several Dutch companies fell victim to this fraud. The investigation is still ongoing.

This weekend the Dutch police pulled over and checked dozens of motorists and motorcyclists heading towards the TT Assen motorcycle race on the A28 near Utrecht and the Flevopolder. Officers confiscated 28 licenses due to speeding and antisocial driving behavior, AD reports.

A massive 105 fines were issued on the A28 between Utrecht and Nijkerk and 155 official reports were filed. The road users were fined for various violations.

Bertus de Man, a 30-year-old man from Nijkerk who died after being arrested by the Amersfoort police on Monday, was likely not killed by the actions of the police officers who arrested him, according to the Public Prosecutor. The preliminary results of an autopsy done on his body show that he did not die because of a broken neck, strangulation, suffocation or heart failure, AD reports.

A 30-year-old man from Nijkerk died during the early hours of Monday morning after he was arrested at a traffic check, the police said in a statement. The man resisted arrest, according to the police.

The man was pulled over around 00:45 a.m. due to his driving. This happened on the Spaceshuttle in Amersfoort. The man ignored the police signals to pull over and sped off. He was eventually brought to a stop and arrested on Langestraat. He resisted arrest.

Celebrations for the 10th anniversary of the Protestant Church in the Netherlands were celebrated by Koning Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima at the Fountain Church in Nijkerk on Monday. The church was first formed in 2004 from the Dutch Reformed Church, the Reformed Churches and the Evangelical Lutheran Church.
