Baby injured in accident with horse trailer

An 8-month-old baby was injured in an accident involving a car and a horse trailer on Saturday afternoon in Nijkerk, according to a police report.Besides the baby a 49-year-old woman from Amsterdam was also injured, when the trailer fell over after a collision. The woman sustained a leg fracture. The horse in the trailer remained unharmed.

The car with the trailer was hit on the Prinsenweg by an oncoming car, driven by a 75-year-old woman from Nijkerk. At that time the wounded cycled on the narrow road on the outskirts of the Gelder place. The trailer fell over, and besides hitting the 49-year-old Amsterdam woman, it also hit the bike of the 57-year-old grandmother and the baby, also from Amsterdam. The baby had to be checked into the hospital.
