Dutch high schools are increasingly getting rid of traditional timetables and experimenting with new ones. This spring was a record season for flowers in the Netherlands. Famous flower park Keukenhof in Lisse welcomed a record number of 1.4 million visitors. And the Amsterdam Tulip Festival featured over 550 blooming tulips.
The Keukenhof considered this a "top season", NU.nl reports. Due to a relatively cool spring, the flowers were in full bloom for eight weeks.
Two 18-year-old men from Lisse and Boskoop were arrested in Leiden during the early hours of Friday morning for vandalism, the police said in a statement on their website.
The Keukenhof garden park opens its doors on Thursday with "The Golden Age" as theme and large Delft blue floral mosaic arrangements as extra attraction.
The flower exhibition Keukenhof in Lisse closed its doors to the public on Sunday after another record season. A total of 1.175 million people visited the flower park this year, Keukenhof announced on Twitter.
