A 26-year-old man from Syria who was shot by the police in Schiedam on Wednesday after he waved an ax on his balcony, passed away on Monday, the Public Prosecutor said.
An as yet unidentified person was shot and killed by a police officer in Purmerend on Friday morning. The police confirmed the shooting, but would say nothing further about the circumstances surrounding it, the Telegraaf reports.
Very little information is available about what happened and the identity of the victim. The shooting happened around 5:00 a.m. on Burgemeester D. Kooimanweg in Purmerend. Emergency services tried to resuscitate the victim, but it was to no avail.
