Man dies after being shot by police

The 23-year-old man that was shot by the Amsterdam police on Wednesday after he threatened them with a knife, passed away in hospital, the Public Prosecutor confirmed to AT5. The incident happened around 2:15 p.m. in a home on Wagenaarstraat in Amsterdam. A doctor called the police for support. When the police arrived, the man pulled a knife and threatened the officers. The officers fired on the man. Witnesses told AT5 that they heard at least six shots. The man was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent surgery, but it was to no avail. He died of his injuries some time later.
