During the run up to New Year's Eve and a few days after, over 53,000 complaints were reported to a website devoted to logging fireworks nuisances in the Netherlands. The registration had a 10 percent increase in complaints over a year ago, suggesting that either people are more frequently annoyed by fireworks, or more people know about the website created by 30 local GroenLinks party factions.

Train passengers trying to leave Amsterdam after the public viewing of the Europa League finals on Wednesday night are furious at NS over poor service. Social media flooded with complaints about overcrowded trains, lack of communication and general chaos, ANP reports. Ajax lost the match against Manchester United 2-0.

Travelers association Rover received nearly 7 thousand complaints about the new NS train schedule since it was implemented on December 11th. That is almost five times more than the usual level of complaints, the association said in Trouw on Thursday.

Rover set up a special hotline for complaints about the new schedule. So far about 3,500 complaints were lodged at that hotline. Another 3,300 complaints came in via the Rover website about overcrowded trains. And the complaints keep streaming in. In a normal month, Rover gets about 1,500 complaints in a normal month.

The Amsterdam police are being flooded with complaints about taxis, the Amsterdam Centrum-Burgwallen department said on Facebook. Most complaints come from the Amsterdam city center and Red Light District area.

According to the police, residents and companies complain about taxi drivers stopping wherever they want to pick up and drop off passengers. They park where no parking is allowed, on the sidewalk or simply in the middle of the road.

The new train timetables, combined with bad winter weather and delayed maintenance made for a record number of complaints directed at NS on Monday morning. The train transport company received about 700 complaints during the first morning rush hour after the implementation of the new timetables - the busiest morning rush hour ever on social media, according to NS, NU.nl reports.

Amsterdam and Airbnb reached a new deal that is aimed at promoting "responsible and sustainable home sharing" and combating illegal hotels, the municipality of Amsterdam announced in a press conference. New measures in the rules include an automatic tracker on Airbnb that keeps track of how many days a home was rented out and Airbnb automatically removing troublemakers' ads from its site.

Antisocial passengers are causing more and more problems on planes, according to th Environment and Transport Inspectorate. In the first three quarters of this year the Inspectorate received 723 reports of antisocial behavior. That is the same number as in all of 2015, AD reports.

The most common problems are smoking in the plane with 38 percent of the complaints, antisocial behavior with 35 percent and alcohol with 27 percent of complaints having to do with intoxicated passengers.

There was a significant increase in the number of complaints regarding youth care in the Netherlands during the first half of this year, according to the advice and complaint office for youth care AKJ. In the first half of 2016 there were 6,465 complaints, compared to a total of 7,404 throughout all of 2015
