Man in custody for threatening attack after Hague politician's death

Those in the Netherlands in life threatening danger should immediately dial 112 for emergencies, and anyone suffering from depression or contemplating suicide can call 113 Zelfmoordpreventie at any time by dialing either 113 or 0800-0113, or by visiting 113.nl.

A man from Schiedam was remanded to 30 days in custody on Tuesday. He was arrested earlier this month for threatening to commit a terrorist attack following the death of PVV city councilor in The Hague Willie Dille, ANP reports.

Dille committed suicide on August 8th. Earlier in the day she posted a video on Facebook in which she said that she was kidnapped, raped and assaulted by a group of Muslims on March 15th last year - the day of the parliamentary election. She said that she had been threatened and that she feared for her life. Dille also said that fellow Hague city councilor Arnoud van Doorn is behind the rape. She ended the video by saying that she is stepping out of politics.

Later that week the Schiedam man wrote on Facebook that he would commit an attack if "there are no serious consequences" following Dille's death. The man is known as a right-wing extremist, according to the news wire.

In addition to threatening a terrorist attack, the man is also suspected of firearm possession and incitement to a terrorist crime.
