A 21-year-old man from Rotterdam was arrested for euthanizing a patient without her permission or that of a relative, which the Public Prosecutor is charging as murder. The nursing home employee is also suspected of attempting to do the same to two other patients. The suspect worked at a number of care institutions, the Prosecutor said in a statement on Monday.
The police arrested a total of 148 suspects in a so-called 'civilian action' in Amsterdam's Red Light District over the weekend. Arrests were made for public drug use, possession of hard drugs, drug dealing, mugging and pickpocketing, AT5 reports.

The cocaine was found in the bedroom and kitchen of the home. The police also seized a large sum of money and several phones. It is not yet clear whether the cocaine was intended for the Dutch market.

On Monday a SWAT team of the Groningen police arrested a man suspected of shooting a 21-year-old student in the city, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. 20-year-old Azim A. was arrested in a home on Duindoornstraat in Groningen, the police announced.

A 23-year-old man from Almere and a 35-year-old woman from Drachten were arrested in Meppel on Sunday afternoon for assaulting a train conductor and a police officer, the Telegraaf reports.

Two men were found dead in an active drug lab in the garden of a Kaatsheuvel home on Friday afternoon. The two 48-year-old men from Kaatsheuvel died from carbon monoxide poisoning, the police announced.
The involved home is located on Prins Marutisplein, according to Omroep Brabant. Emergency services tried to resuscitate the two men, but it was to no avail. An 18-year-old man from the Noord-Brabant town of Langenboom was arrested on Saturday on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl from te same town, the police said in a statement. "What exactly happened, the police don't know yet. The sex crime department is investigating the case", the police said.
