Four terrorism suspects found with ammunition in Rotterdam

Update 14:00, 28 March 2016: The fourth suspect was also determined to be Algerian, according to newswire ANP. The police arrested a 32-year-old Frenchman in Rotterdam on Sunday at the request of the French authorities. The man is suspected of preparing for a terrorist attacks. Another three people were arrested, including two Algerian men aged 43 and 47. Little is known about the background of the third suspect, which newswire ANP later reported as an Albanian person. A number of raids were carried out and ammunition and drugs, as well as mobile phones, SIM cards, data carriers and money. The French suspect will soon be extradited to France, the Public Prosecutor reports. The other three will be questioned by Dutch authorities. According to the prosecutor, there are no indications that an attack was planned for the Netherlands. According to news wire AFP, the French suspect is Anis B. He previously traveled to Syria with Reda Kriket, who is considered a key figure in the terrorist attacks in Paris last year. The Public Prosecutor did not confirm the French suspect's identity. Kriket was arrested in Paris on Thursday. The French authorities reported that he was preparing for an attack. While searching the house in which he was arrested, the authorities found firearms, explosives and a telephone number to a phone in Rotterdam. The French authorities contact the Dutch police, who traced the number and made the four arrests. The police raided addresses on Burgemeester Meineszstraat and Mathenesserweg in Rotterdam West. Two suspects were also arrested in Belgium as part of the investigation into a new terrorist attack in France. The French suspect arrested in Rotterdam will be extradited to France. The other three suspects were arrested on suspicion of involvement in terrorism. The Dutch police are investigating their connection with the French suspect.
