Video: Man and woman stabbed in Helmond apartment

A man and a woman were stabbed early Sunday in an apartment at Ameidepark in Helmond, police said.

The stabbing occurred around 2:45 a.m. on the first floor of the apartment complex near a Savant residential care center, though the apartment is not part of the care facility. A trauma helicopter was dispatched but ultimately not needed.

The man was taken directly to a hospital. The woman was first examined in an ambulance at the scene and later transported to a hospital as well. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.

Officers accompanied one of the victims in the ambulance to the hospital. Authorities have not released further details on what led to the incident, the relationship between the victims, or any possible suspect.
