Man shot inside Amsterdam-Zuidoost home

A man was shot in the leg inside a residence in the Zuidoost district of Amsterdam late Friday. The shooting prompted police to call out an arrest team and a specialized unit for high-risk situations involving firearms, AT5 reports.

Police received reports of the shooting around 9:45 p.m. at a home on Hofgeest in Zuidoost. A trauma team was also dispatched to the scene.

The victim was conscious and able to speak when he was transported to a hospital. Officers said the suspect or suspects fled on foot after the shooting. No arrests have been made.

The Amsterdam police are searching for one or more shooters. They have urged witnesses to come forward.
