Video: Two suspects arrested after drug lab found in The Hague neighborhood
Police arrested two suspects after they discovered a drug lab in a residential neighborhood in The Hague on Meidoornstraat on Saturday afternoon. The find forced the evacuation of about 200 nearby residents, RTL reports.
Emergency services responded to a report of a strong stench from the building. When officers entered the property, one man tried to flee. He slipped on a greasy substance, fell, and was arrested. He was taken to a hospital for medical checks. A second suspect was arrested later.
Authorities found vats containing thousands of liters of chemicals inside the building. Police examined the substances and determined how to safely stop the drug production process. The fire department now confirmed the production process has been stopped.
Residents were taken to the Segbroek district office for shelter. They were allowed to return to their homes around 10:30 p.m.
