Police say a 17-year-old was shot early Tuesday morning in Bergen op Zoom, Noord-Brabant. Few details were revealed about the incident, which took place shortly after 1:15 a.m.
The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the leg when he was on the Prinses Irenestraat, police said. He was transported to an area hospital. His condition was not released.
The gun used in the incident was not found. A police dog was being used to find the weapon and any spent shell casings.
The entire city council of Amsterdam wants an emergency debate on measures against gun violence after a series of shootings in the city over the past weeks. There were five shooting incidents in Amsterdam over the past four days. "Firearms and violence do not fit in our city. We therefore want to express our horror at the increasing violence", the party leaders in the city council said in a joint statement, AT5 reports.

A 33-year-old man was killed in a shooting near the Kraaiennest subway station in Amsterdam Zuidoost on Saturday night. The police identified the victim as Inchomar Balentien from Amsterdam and confirmed that he had a criminal record.
The court sentenced a 17-year-old boy to 200 hours of community service and one year of conditionally suspended juvenile detention for firing an air gun at his school in Roermond last year. A man was critically injured in a shooting on Westkousdijk in the Delfshaven borough of Rotterdam on Wednesday evening. He was sitting in the back of a moving car when someone opened fire on him. The driver of the car was unharmed. The police are looking for the perpetrator or perpetrators, AD report.
The victim was rushed to hospital in critical condition. He was hit in the neck, according to the newspaper. Emergency services received calls about the incident shortly after 6:15 p.m., immediately dispatching police, ambulances, and a helicopter carrying a medical trauma team.
Gokmen T., the man suspected of killing four people and hurting multiple others in a mass shooting in Utrecht in March, must attend the next pro-forma hearing in the case against him, the court in Midden-Nederland ordered.

The police registered a total of 527 shooting incidents throughout the Netherlands last year. That amounts to 1.5 shootings per day. A total of 44 people were killed in shootings in a year in a half, the Telegraaf reports based on figures requested from the National Police.
So far this year, a total of 240 shooting incidents were registered. That is a slight decrease compared to the same period last year. The newspaper has no figures regarding shooting incidents prior to 2018.

The getaway car used in the murder of Saban Berk in Amsterdam on Monday night, was often spotted in the vicinity of the gym where he gave classes. The police believe that the perpetrators of the shooting may have been keeping an eye on him, a spokesperson said to Het Parool.
A man shot and killed on Papaverweg in Amsterdam Noord on Monday night, was identified as gym owner Saban Berk. In 2014 the gym owner told Dutch media that he was often mistaken for, still at large, sex trafficker Saban B. He does not only have the same first name as the convicted human trafficker, but also a similar appearance, NU.nl reports.

A 50-year-old bicyclist was shot in the leg on Saturday afternoon in Eindhoven. The victim, from Nuenen, was cycling on a path along the Wolvendijk at about 4 p.m. when he suddenly discovered he was wounded.
