Video: Gunshots ring out in Limburg park leaving one man dead in Vaals; No arrests
A 27-year-old man was shot dead in a park in the Limburg village of Vaals overnight. The police launched an investigation and were still processing the scene even as people in the neighborhood were starting their day. No arrests have been made.
The police received reports of multiple gunshots near Bloemendal Park in the center of the village at around 1:50 a.m. First responders found a critically injured man at the scene. They tried to resuscitate him, but it was to no avail.
“The victim who was injured earlier tonight in the shooting incident on Parklaan in Vaals has succumbed to his injuries despite the efforts of the emergency services,” the Limburg police reported about two hours later. The victim was a local man.
The police launched an investigation and asked witnesses to come forward. Detectives and forensic investigators were still busy at the scene hours later.
“We are searching for one suspect or multiple suspects. That is not yet known. We are searching for people who saw something here or in the vicinity at about 2 o’clock, and we are asking area residents who may have camera images to make contact with us,” a police spokesperson told L1.
