Body of missing crew worker found after boat sinks in Amsterdam
A body was recovered overnight during a search in the Coenhaven in Amsterdam, police said. It is the missing crew member from a push boat that sank yesterday morning. The victim’s identity has not been released.
The recovery was made with the help of special equipment and multiple dive teams, according to NH, citing police.
It remains unclear what caused the push boat—a vessel designed to push bulk cargoes in floating bins—to sink.
The Labor Inspectorate and the Inspectorate for Environment and Transport launched an investigation into the incident. Police’s Traffic Accident Analysis unit (VOA) is also working to determine the circumstances of the sinking.
