Ronald van Z., a psychiatric prisoner who escaped from a clinic in Nijmegen on Friday, was arrested in an internet cafe in Paris on Wednesday evening, the police said. He is expected to be extradited to the Netherlands in the near future.
Van Z. was convicted of child sex abuse in 2014 and sentenced to institutionalized psychiatric treatment. He was being treated at the Pompekliniek in Nijmigen, from where he escaped while on a supervised bike ride on Friday.

A 42-year-old man was arrested in Chile last week at the request of the Dutch authorities. He is wanted in connection with the discovery of almost 1.5 million euros in a property in Amsterdam last year, the Public Prosecutor confirmed to NU.nl after reports in the Telegraaf on Wednesday.
The suspect is Eduardo R.V., also known under the alias Rico the Chilean. Exactly what role he played in this money laundering case, is still under investigation. He is suspected of participating in a criminal organization, money laundering and drug trafficking.

A prisoner who escaped in Antwerp in July, was arrested in Amsterdam on Thursday. Belgium requested that he be extradited, AT5 reports.
According to the broadcaster, the man in question was one of two arrested for stealing expensive jewelry from homes in Belgium. Both suspects managed to escape police custody when they were set to appear in court. They attacked a police officer in front of the court and took off, still wearing their handcuffs.

The suspects were arrested separately. They are 31 and 35 years old, both from Rotterdam. They are facing charges of public violence. A 19-year-old was previously arrested in Spain and extradited to the Netherlands. He is still in custody.

A Belgian fugitive was arrested in Rotterdam on Monday, eight years after he violently escaped from a Belgian prison. Mustapha L. is considered one of the most wanted criminals in Belgium, RTL Nieuws reports.
L. was sentenced to six years in prison. He and two other detainees escaped a Belgian prison on March 15th, 2009 by taking three prison guards hostage. The guards were overpowered during a walk and threatened with a knife. In order not to endanger their hostage colleagues, other guards let the three prisoners out of jail. They fled on foot.
