Due to coronavirus Covid-19, KLM is canceling all its flights to Venice, Milan and Naples in Italy until at least April 3rd, the Dutch airline announced on Wednesday. Earlier this week, KLM said it was canceling some 25 percent of its flights to the southern European country. KLM flights to other Italian destinations are still running according to schedule, RTL Nieuws reports.

KLM put a red line through twelve of its departures to Italy due to the coronavirus outbreak in the country. The Dutch airline will still fly to infected areas, but at a lower frequency, eliminating at least 25 percent of its flights to Italy this week through March 15th.

A Dutch man was one of three people killed in a speedboat accident in Venice. The speedboat crashed into a dam. Three of the four people on board were killed. The fourth was taken to hospital. The Dutch victim is 54-year-old motorboat technician Erik Hoorn, his brother confirmed to NOS.

The accident happened at around 9:05 p.m. on Tuesday, local time, according to the local fire department Vigili del Fuoco.

American author Kristin Anderson has been based in the Netherlands for over five years now, and has used the time to become a full-fledged novelist. Her second book, The Things We Said in Venice, is a travelogue that takes its two main characters on an on-again-off-again romance across Europe and ultimately to the Netherlands. Essentially written as a much-needed vacation to the eco-thriller she previously worked on, she based the characters on a subject of a Huffington Post article and a travel photographer/blogger.

British budget Airline, EasyJet, is expanding their routes to vacation destinations at a rapid rate. The airline announced on Wednesday that flights from Amsterdam's Schiphol to Ibiza, Spain, Corfu, Greece and Palermo, Italy will be available from June 2015.

British budget airline EasyJet will offer six new destinations for passengers traveling from Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport. The airline will likely take passengers between Amsterdam and 25 different locations when they open up their new base at Schiphol next spring.

Google Street View cameras are to set cruise down Amsterdam’s canals next week, capturing views of the city from the water. The interactive map will give users the ability to virtually tour the canals as they are seen from the water, and gain a unique perspective of Amsterdam.

Acclaimed artist herman de vries has been chosen to represent the Netherlands at the Venice Biennale, 2015. His piece entitled ‘to be all ways to be’ (1974), developed along side curators Colin Huizing and Cees de Boer, was chosen by the jury over four other entries.
