New night train will connect Venice with Rotterdam and Utrecht
European Sleeper announced a new seasonal night train that will run between Brussels and Venice, stopping in Rotterdam and Utrecht in the Netherlands. The inaugural journey will be on February 5 next year, and the train will run about twice a week during February and March.
According to the company, this schedule “accommodates school holidays and the peak winter sports season and provides a sustainable, enjoyable travel option to Venice’s famous carnival.”
“We are pleased to introduce this new night train connection from the North Sea to the Mediterranean,” European Sleeper co-founder Chris Engelsman said. “Passengers will be able to board our train from Belgium and the Netherlands and relax in the comfort of the restaurant car, while the train transports them through Germany and Austria and across the Alps, ending in the historic cities of Verona and Venice the following day.”
According to the provisional timetable, the train will depart from Rotterdam at 8:00 p.m. and Utrecht at 9:00 p.m. and arrive in Venice at 2:00 p.m. the following day. The return trip starts in Venice at 3:00 p.m. and arrives in Utrecht at 8:00 a.m. and Rotterdam an hour later.
