Polish man shot and robbed in Groningen
Two Polish men were robbed and one of them was shot near Zuilen in Groningen around 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning. The man was shot in the leg. The police believe two robbers were involved and that they got away with a small amount of money, RTV Noord reports.
According to the police, communication with the victims is difficult because they don't have an interpreter. The two men went to a hospital after the incident, and only called the police after the shot man was treated. The police then went to investigate the scene of the crime.
"We indeed found trace evidence that indicate a shooting. But the perpetrators have not yet been found", police spokesperson Paul Heidanus said to the broadcaster. "As soon as we have an interpreter, we will talk to the two victims. Among other things, we want to know why they first went to hospital and only then called us. As a result, we are now behind the facts. But we are trying to catch up."
