A 19-year-old Dutch man was arrested on Malta on Wednesday. He was the driver of a jet ski involved in a fatal accident in which a, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed to NU.nl. 

The driver of the jet ski was questioned by the police on Wednesday, and will be questioned again on Friday. The investigation is still ongoing and it is not yet clear whether he can be charged with anything.

A 19-year-old Dutch man was killed in an accident with a jet-ski on Malta on Wednesday afternoon. He was hit by a jet-ski, driven by another 19-year-old Dutch man, in St. George's Bay, RTL Nieuws reports.

Bystanders helped the wounded man to shore and provided first aid. But their efforts were in vain. The young man died at the scene. 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the death to RTL Nieuws. The man's family was informed, a spokesperson said.

Shannon Mak from the Noord-Holland town of Monnickendam was found murdered on Malta on Friday morning. The young Dutch woman was found lifeless between two cars with stab wounds in her neck. Her ex-boyfriend, 22-year-old Dutch man Jelle R., was arrested, the Telegraaf reports.

Tim Scholten, 19 from Noord-Brabant, passed away over the weekend after being hit by a car early on Friday morning. The accident happened on Sliema boulevard on Malta, AD reports.

At around 4:50 a.m. on Friday a motorist lost control of his car and drove onto the pavement on Sliema boulevard, where Tim was walking with three Dutch friends, two Brits and two Croatians. Tim was seriously hurt and had to be resuscitated by bystanders while emergency services responded.

The other three Dutch and the two Brits sustained minor injuries. The Croatian women were unharmed.

Police in the Netherlands arrested a Maltese man for making a false report about a bomb threat that purportedly targeted an international train, a police report revealed on Sunday. The train, travelling from Amsterdam to Berlin, Germany on December 28, was , Overijssel as a result of the report.

The Netherlands should be on the European Union's blacklist of tax havens, according to development organization Oxfam Novib in a report. The EU is currently working on such a list, to get a clear picture on which countries 'refuse to play fair', and the expectation is that the Netherlands will not be on it, RTL Nieuws reports.

The EU list is expected to be presented in December. According to Oxfam, if the criteria for non-EU countries were also applied to the Netherlands, the country would definitely end up on the blacklist.

Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Minister Bert Koenders of Foreign Affairs will be attending the refugee summit between the European Union and African countries in Malta on Wednesday and Thursday. Rutte, currently on a trade mission in Japan, will be leaving the Asian country after a meeting with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to attend the summit.

Two Dutch teenagers were wounded in a stabbing in Malta on Sunday. One of them was seriously injured. Both boys are currently out of life threatening danger and recovering well, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Dutch embassy has made contact with them.

Amsterdam resident Reineir Boere will soon be patrolling the Mediterranean sea aboard the Sea-Watch, looking for refugees who are in trouble. The ship will be setting sail from the Italian island of Lampedusa on Wednesday and will be patrolling the area between Malta and Libya for two weeks, providing first aid to migrants in distress.
