Dutch man, 19, arrested for fatal jet ski accident on Malta

A 19-year-old Dutch man was arrested on Malta on Wednesday. He was the driver of a jet ski involved in a fatal accident in which another 19-year-old Dutch man was killed, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed to NU.nl.

The driver of the jet ski was questioned by the police on Wednesday, and will be questioned again on Friday. The investigation is still ongoing and it is not yet clear whether he can be charged with anything.

Both Dutch men were staying in Sliema. The accident happened in St. George's Bay on Wednesday afternoon.

Bystanders took the injured man out of the water and provided first aid, but it was to no avail. He died at the scene.
