The PvdA is "shocked" by the European Commissions ruling that the Netherlands' deal with multinational Starbucks amounts to illegal State aid. As far as the party is concerned, State Secretary Eric Wiebes of Finance has "a lot of explaining to do".

Prime Minister Mark Rutte is not very optimistic about the European Union summit on the Greek debt crisis on Tuesday. During a parliamentary debate on the matter on Monday, the Prime Minister said that he does not want to hear any "rubbish stories" from the Greeks.

Minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem of Finance has decided to postpone the planned sale of ABN Amro due to the recent turmoil surrounding the salary increases for the bank's executives, De Gelderlander reports. Dijsselbloem previously told the Tweede Kamer that the decision about ABN Amro's IPO would be made before April 1st.

Politicians are favoring a harder line, and being stricter on the rules of bonuses for banks. In a Parliament meeting about the cabinet plan to tackle banker bonuses, ruling party, the PvdA, will demand an increase in fines for banks and insurers who dismiss the bonus ban, the Algemeen Dagblad reports.

The SP in the House asks the Foundation Preference Shares B of KPN to prevent a takeover by Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim. SP MP Arnold Merkies requested this in a letter to the foundation.

The foundation has opportunities to raise a protective wall around KPN against a hostile takeover. The foundation had already expressed their concern about the plans of Slims company América Móvil (AMX), to take over KPN.
