SP Pleas To Prevent KPN Takeover

The SP in the House asks the Foundation Preference Shares B of KPN to prevent a takeover by Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim. SP MP Arnold Merkies requested this in a letter to the foundation. The foundation has opportunities to raise a protective wall around KPN against a hostile takeover. The foundation had already expressed their concern about the plans of Slims company América Móvil (AMX), to take over KPN. Merkies thinks that selling KPN must be prevented. "Many citizens make use of KPN services and even the security services uses services offered by KPN. For the Netherlands it is crucial that these services remain. Since the foundation also expressed their concerns, I sincerely hope that they will respond to the call. The foundation is the only party that can stop the acquisition," says Merkies.
