The police in Amersfoort arrested three protesters on Wednesday for throwing fireworks at motorcycle police officers. Two of the three officers involved had to be hospitalized with hearing problems. A fourth protester was arrested for hindering an ambulance, the police said.
The fireworks incident in Amersfoort happened at around 6:00 p.m. on Oude Lageweg. The officers were guiding protesting farmers and construction workers when fireworks were thrown at them from a passing van. The police immediately intervened and arrested three people from Amersfoort.
One person was killed and six people were hurt in an accident on the A73 highway near Nijmegen on Tuesday. At least three people were taken to hospital by ambulance.
The first ambulance was dispatched to the scene just before 9:45 a.m., followed by a trauma team by helicopter a few minutes later. A total of five paramedic teams were sent out, excluding the trauma helicopter. Six young people were hospitalized on Sunday evening after they used ecstasy at youth care institution De La Salle in Boxtel. "One of them is in bad shape", the Oost-Brabant police said on Twitter.
Ambulances were deployed to the youth care institution at around 7:30 p.m. when the first of the group of young people became unwell. They were rushed to a hospital in the area. The police are investigating where they got the drugs.

Seven residents of an apartment building on Prinses Annalaan in Leidschendam were taken to hospital on Tuesday to be checked for carbon monoxide poisoning. A total of 16 homes were evacuated, AD reports.
The fire department and ambulance service responded to the apartment building in large numbers on Tuesday afternoon after someone reported smelling gas in the building. Measurements showed that there was no gas leak, but there was a much too high concentration of carbon monoxide in the building.

Two people were found dead in a home on Max Havelaarlaan in Amstelveen on Sunday night. Emergency services responded to the home after reports of a strange smell, the Telegraaf reports.
A spokesperson for the police told the newspaper that the two victims seemed to have died of natural causes. It is not yet clear how long the bodies lay in the home.

A 12-year-old boy was hurt on Friday when he fell off a footbridge and landed four meters below in a cave. The accident happened at an old bat cave at the Diergaarde Blijdorp, the zoo in Rotterdam.
Rescuers already at the zoo were able to retrieve the boy. He was in a stable condition, an emergency services spokesperson told Nu.nl. His injuries were not disclosed.

Ambulance personnel throughout the Netherlands will soon be equipped with bullet- and stab proof vests and helmets, based on advice from Ambulancezorg Nederland. The vests are intended to better protect paramedics in dangerous conditions and terror situations, NOS reports.
The paramedics will not be obliged to always wear the protective clothing, they can assess the situation themselves. According to Ambulancezorg Nederland, they have no recorded incidents in the past where paramedics needed bulletproof vests.
A mother and a child were injured in an accident involving a cargo bike and a truck at a railway crossing in Bodegraven on Friday morning. They were taken to hospital, the police said on Twitter.
The mother was driving the cargo bicycle with two children inside. A third child was cycling along on another bicycle. It is unclear whether the injured child was in the cargo bike or on the other bicycle. The other two children were not hurt. A plane landed safely at Eindhoven Airport on Wednesday after experiencing technical difficulties, the fire brigade said. The Wizz Air flight from Bucharest to Eindhoven carried 228 people, a spokesperson for the airport said to Omroep Brabant.
According to the spokesperson, there was a problem with the flaps on a wing of the plane. As a result, the plane landed at higher speed than normal. The pilot managed to touch down safely. No one was injured.
