Two hurt in stabbing at King's Day festival in Amsterdam

Two people were injured in a stabbing at the Kingsland King’s Day festival in the Olympisch Stadion in Amsterdam. One person was arrested, AT5 reported.

The incident occurred around 8:50 p.m., about 20 minutes after the festival had ended. The police responded along with at least two ambulances and a trauma team by helicopter. The helicopter landed in the stadium.

Both victims had stab wounds. One was taken to the hospital by ambulance, the other was treated at the scene, a police spokesperson told Hart van Nederland.

One suspect is in custody. The police are investigating what happened and can’t yet say whether the victims and suspect knew each other or what led up to the stabbing.
