Video: One killed, two hurt in stabbing at Heerhugowaard business
One person died, and two people were injured in a stabbing at a business in Heerhugowaard on Monday evening. The two injured people were taken to a hospital for treatment. The police are investigating and seeking witnesses. No arrests were reported.
Police received the first reports of a violent incident at a business premises on Coulombstraat at around 7:35 p.m. Emergency services responded in large numbers, including multiple ambulances and a trauma team by helicopter.
A police spokesperson told RTL Nieuws that there was a “dangerous” situation in the building. The police cordoned off a large area around the company and had specialized teams, including the Special Intervention Service (DSI) and police dogs, at the scene. According to NH Nieuws, the police held the building at gunpoint for some time as a police helicopter circled the scene from above.
At around 9:25 p.m., the police reported that one person had died in the stabbing and two people were transported to a hospital with unspecified injuries. Their current condition is unknown.
The police launched a large-scale investigation into exactly what happened in the building. A police spokesperson asked witnesses and anyone with relevant information or camera footage to come forward.
