Video: Boy riding fatbike shot in front of Gouda grocery store

A person was critically injured in a shooting on Sportlaan in Gouda on Monday evening. First responders rushed the victim to a hospital, the Den Haag police said on X. According to the Telegraaf, the victim is a boy on a fatbike. No arrests have been made.

The shooting happened in front of a grocery store. The police received the first report of the shooting at around 7:50 p.m., a spokesperson confirmed to Omroep West. Emergency services responded in large numbers, including a trauma team by helicopter. A police helicopter also circled the scene.

Police officers cordoned off the crime scene with large tarpaulins and screens while first responders stabilized the victim. A fatbike was seen lying on the street close to the victim.

The police are investigating what happened. They have not provided any details regarding the victim’s identity.

According to Hart van Nederland, many bystanders were watching the emergency response, including several teenagers standing between the police and paramedics.
