Second police chase ends in crash in Enschede; One arrest
Another police chase ended in a crash during the early hours of Tuesday morning, but in this case, no one died. The driver of a stolen car crashed in Enschede at around 4:30 a.m. after a wild chase from the west of the country. The police arrested him a short time later, RTV Oost reported.
According to the broadcaster, the driver ignored a stop sign from the police in the west of the country and sped away, with the police giving chase. The chase ended in Enschede when the suspect flew over a central barrier on Oldenzaalsestraat. The car lost a wheel and came to a sudden stop.
The driver fled on foot, but the police tracked him down with the help of a police dog and arrested him. The police cordoned off the street for investigation and repair work.
Earlier on Tuesday morning, another police chase ended in a crash in Berghem, near Oss. A train crashed into the car the police were chasing, killing two people in the car.
