Police van on its side in collision with drunk driver; At least 3 King's Night accidents
A police van ended up on its side in Rozenburg after a collision with a drunk driver early Monday morning. It was one of at least three accidents involving intoxicated drivers after the King’s Night festivities, RTL Nieuws reported.
The accident in Rozenburg happened at the intersection of Laan van Nieuw Blankenburg and Tienmorgenseweg at 2:17 a.m. The passenger car reportedly approached from the right at high speed and crashed into the police van. The impact caused the police vehicle to roll, and it ended up on its side a few meters down the road.
The officers and motorist all escaped the crash uninjured. The police had the driver do an alcohol test and found that he was driving under the influence. He was arrested after being checked by paramedics at the scene.
At around 3:00 a.m., a car crashed into a concrete barrier along the A65 near Berkel-Enschot and rolled. Paramedics transported the driver to a hospital by ambulance.
A drunk driver also caused an accident on the N65 near Udenhout. The condition of the driver is unknown.
