Shooting in Diemen leaves one injured, suspects flee

A shooting occurred Tuesday night on Martin Luther Kinglaan in Diemen, leaving one person injured. The suspects, dressed in dark clothing, fled the scene toward Diemen Station, authorities said.

Emergency services received the first reports of the shooting around 10:30 p.m. Police and medical responders arrived at the scene, where they found one victim who had been shot. The individual was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The victim’s condition has not been disclosed.

Police cordoned off the area around Martin Luther Kinglaan to conduct an investigation. Forensic teams examined the scene for evidence, and officers interviewed witnesses.

The police have appealed to the public for assistance. “If you witnessed the incident or have relevant information, please contact us,” said a spokesperson for the Diemen Police. They have also asked anyone with camera footage from the area to share it with investigators.

Witnesses can provide information by calling 0900-8844 or anonymously via 0800-7000.
