Body found on driveway of Brabant home; five arrested
A man was found dead on the driveway of a home in the Noord-Brabant village of Chaam on Wednesday morning. According to the police, the victim was "killed by violence". Five men were arrested soon after the body was discovered. A woman was also registered as a suspect, but not arrested, Omroep Brabant reports.
The home where the body was found is located on Bredaseweg. Around 4:30 a.m. the police responded to reports of a burning car on the street. At the scene no burnt out car was found, but officers did find the man on the driveway. Paramedics, the fire brigade and an air ambulance responded to the scene. Attempts to resuscitate the victim were unsuccessful.
The police immediately launched a major investigation. According to the police, the suspects may all live in the house where the body was found. The young woman was taken to the police station for questioning, but was not officially arrested, a police spokesperson said to Omroep Brabant. Two young children in the house were left in the care of aid workers. A car parked at the house was towed away.
A local resident told Omroep Brabant that the house is occupied by migrant workers.
