A Dutch military Apache helicopter was deployed to check on a small aircraft from Switzerland on Tuesday morning after the plane sent a hijacking alarm while flying over Noord-Brabant. A man was found dead on the driveway of a home in the Noord-Brabant village of Chaam on Wednesday morning. According to the police, the victim was "killed by violence". Five men were arrested soon after the body was discovered. A woman was also registered as a suspect, but not arrested, Omroep Brabant reports.
Dutch firefighters had their hands full battling forest fires in the Noord-Brabant nature area Mariapeel and on Terschelling during the early hours of Friday morning. The fires in both areas are now under control, with occasional flare-ups.
