Wanted murder suspect jumps from moving car during police chase through Den Bosch

A man jumped out of a moving car in Den Bosch on Monday evening during a police chase through the city. He turned out to be a Polish man wanted for murder, the police discovered after his arrest. The driver of the car was also arrested, Omroep Brabant reports.

Officers started following the Audi SQ5 on Monday evening when they spotted it twice running a red light and then reaching speeds of 190 kilometers per hour on the A2. On the A59, the police signalled the Audi to stop. The driver appeared to give heed, but fled into a residential area in the Maaspoort district and accelerated again, driving 111 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.

On Florencestraat, the passenger suddenly jumped out of the moving Audi, landing in front of a motorcycle cop, who barely missed colliding with the man. Locals helped the police catch the man in the front garden of a nearby home. The driver stopped a little way away and was arrested there.

The driver tested positive for alcohol and cocaine. He was also driving without a driver’s license, and the car was not properly registered.

Investigation into the men’s identities showed that the passenger was a Polish man wanted in Poland for murder. The driver, also Polish, was previously sentenced to three years in prison for aggravated assault and theft with violence.

The men are in custody, pending extradition to Poland.
