Police search Dutch holiday park for ISIS sympathizers
The Dutch police are following up on information from British group Bellingcat about possible ISIS sympathizers staying in a holiday park in Vaals, Limburg.
On Tuesday Bellingcat posted a photo on Twitter calling for information on where it was taken. "Can you help us crowdsource a geolocation. This photo is linked to an ISIS sympathizer living in Europe. Perhaps Germany or the Netherlands", Belingcat founder Eliot Higgins tweeted. Within an hour they concluded that the photo was taken at the holiday park HoogVaals.
The Dutch police are investigating "whether, when and why" the "potential ISIS sympathizer" stayed at HoogVaals, a police spokesperson said to NU.nl. The authorities are not physically searching the park for the person. According to the spokesperson, the police always follow up on this type of information.
