The Late Rembrandt exhibition is possibly too crowded, Rijksmuseum director Wim Pijbes admitted to NRC Handelsblad on Thursday. In an earlier response to the criticism the exhibit received Pijbes said it's not as bad as in the Sistine Chapel or in front of Mona Lisa, but in his latest statement he says the display is "arguably approaching the boundaries of an enjoyable visit."
A hungry lion found itself with its head stuck in a feeding barrel at the Dierenrijk zoo in Nuenen, Noord Brabant over the weekend. The startled African lion panicked as it could not see its cage anymore and started running around desperately in effort to get the barrel off, AD writes.
Dutch Police kicked off the trial of a new mobile app that notifies smartphone users with location-specific messages about a danger or a crisis. The pilot program is being tested in Eindhoven, Noord Brabant, as part of the police Mobile Media Lab program.
Rotterdam will soon start measuring how many people visit the city and how long they stay there with the new City Traffic system. Visitors will be automatically registered in the city center through mobile phone signals, Bluetooth and WiFi.
