Police in the Netherlands continued a large-scale search on Friday for a woman missing since October 27. Karin Heemskerk, 51, was last seen leaving her Leiden home at 11:45 p.m.

"Since then, there is no trace of her," police said in a statement. After investigating the case, authorities decided to search the area between Leiden, Vlietland, and Voorschoten.

A team of over seventy people were conducting the search on Friday. Police were to be joined by the Veterans Search Team, volunteers with experience in policing and the military.

Toyota Industries bought Dutch luggage conveyor belt company Vanderlande for 1.2 billion euros after majority shareholder NPM Capital reached an agreement with the Japanese company, NOS reports.

Vanderlande, based in Veghel in Brabant, builds logistic transport systems for warehouses, distribution centers and transportation centers. It is one of the world leaders in baggage conveyors at airports. The company employs 4,500 people worldwide, including 1,600 in the Netherlands. In 2015 Vanderlande had a turnover of almost one billion euros.

Japanese car maker Toyota is recalling over 36 thousand cars in the Netherlands due to potentially dangerous airbags. Defects in the airbag inflation system of Takata airbags means that metal pieces can be shot into the car when the airbag is released. This defect has been linked to 17 deaths worldwide, so far none in the Netherlands, ANP reports.

Car manufacturer Toyota is recalling about 1.43 million cars world wide, 17,220 in the Netherlands, due to problems with their airbags. In the Netherlands another 41,334 Toyotas are also being recalled due to possible problems with carbon filters

Toyota has recalled 20,477 cars in the Netherlands because they require a software update. According to the Japanese company the cars' current software could adversely affect their driving performance

Kees Herweijer was driving his Toyota Auris wagon up the N214 in Wijngaarden, Zuid-Holland at 80 kilometers per hour when he spotted two ducks suddenly attempt to cross the road right in front of him. Realizing it would be possible to at least save one of the two ducks, he hit the brakes and swerved.
