Three people were arrested and various homes and office buildings were raided on Tuesday in an investigation into 8 million euros worth of fraud committed by Dutch investment company Hollandsche Wind. The Public Prosecutor and tax investigative service FIOD also seized several cars, Tubantia reports.
The police made a major drug bust in the Utrecht town of Odijk on Thursday. In a raid on a warehouse the cops found 3,400 kilograms of hashish, 15 thousand MDMA pills and a firearm, the police said in a statement on Friday.
The police raided the warehouse in response to "information received". The drugs and firearm were confiscated.
So far no arrests were made. The police are investigating.
The Haarlem chapter of outlaw motorcycle gang Hells Angels is suspected of setting fire to the car of Bernt Schneiders in June 2015, while he was still the mayor of Haarlem, the police confirmed to AD.
On Thursday night the police raided the Hells Angels clubhouse on Baljuwslaan and arrested a total of 10 people. The suspects include nine men and one woman. According to the police, the 9 men make up the entire Haarlem chapter of the outlaw motorcycle gang, ANP reports.
The men are aged between 35 and 64 years and come from Haarlem, Leiden, Gouda, Alkmaar and IJmuiden. They are all suspected of participation in a criminal organization. Some are also suspected of extortion, threats, violence and arson.
Early on Friday morning a large team of police officers raided the clubhouse of outlaw motorcycle gang No Surrender in Emmen. An emergency decree was issued and fences were placed around the complex. According to the municipality, one person was arrested, AD reports.
