A 25-year-old man from Naaldwijk has been arrested on Tuesday for suspected forgery and fraud after allegedly lying about the economic activity of his business while registering for TOGS benefits, the financial crimes inspectorate FIOD has confirmed.
The police shot a man on Verdilaan in Naaldwijk on Monday evening. The man was waving a knife and shouting at bystanders at a supermarket, a police spokesperson said to AD. The man was taken to hospital in unknown condition.
The incident happened at an Albert Heijn supermarket. The man would not listen to police instructions. To get him under control, the police had to shoot at him multiple times, the spokesperson said to the newspaper. A police dog was also used.
A trauma helicopter was deployed to help the injured man. He was rushed to hospital.
No Islamic primary school will be opening in Naaldwijk in Westland. While the municipality approved the plans for the school, State Secretary Sander Dekker of Education decided not to give his permission. According to him, the plan for the school does not meet all the conditions, NOS reports.
