A 31-year-old man arrested for shooting and killing a 16-year-old girl at a school in Rotterdam on Tuesday, has a criminal record. He was convicted last year and is currently on probation. A shooting at a Rotterdam school left a 16-year-old girl dead, according to police. The shooting took place on Essenburgstraat. Emergency services were called to the street and also Beukelsdijk at about 1:10 p.m. on Tuesday.
Police said the victim knew her assailant, a 31-year-old Rotterdam man, who was arrested in the immediate aftermath. He was taken into custody nearby on Bergselaan.
Authorities did not disclose how the suspect and victim are connected.
