The court in Amsterdam convicted seven out of eight men for public violence for their role in a brawl in Amsterdam's Red Light District which ended in the death of 32-year-old Robert Gerritsen two years ago. The court ruled that the blow that ended Gerritsen's life was made in self defense, and 22-year-old Romanian Mirci M. was therefore not punished for it, RTL Nieuws reports.
A disagreement about a glass started a fight that resulted in the death of 32-year-old Jip Jurg from Rotterdam, the police revealed on Opsporing Verzocht on Tuesday. Jurg was found dead in his home on January 28th. He died of internal injuries.
The police arrested an 18-year-old man from Rotterdam in connection with a fatal fight at the Zuidplein subway station in Rotterdam on Friday. A 54-year-old man was killed. The suspect turned himself in on Monday morning, the police said in a statement.
The 54-year-old man fell during the fight and lost consciousness. He passed away in hospital later on Friday evening.
The police are questioning the suspect. He will be arraigned later this week.
