Footage released of fatal fight in Amsterdam's Red Light District
Surveillance camera footage of a fight in Amsterdam's Red Light District in one man was killed, was released on Opsporing Verzocht on Tuesday night. The police hope that information from the public will lead to arrests.
The brawl happened on Saturday night, September 3rd. Victim Robert Gerritsen, 32-years-old from Voorhuizen, got into a fight with another group. It was initially thought that Gerritsen and his friends tried to break up the fight, but the footage seems to indicate differently.
Gerritsen was injured to such an extent that he fell into a coma. He died in hospital two days later.
The police are looking for three men, believed to be of Romanian descent. It was initially stated that the three men were Polish, but according to the police they spoke Romanian on the night of the fight. At least two of them were injured in the face. One fell into the water. They have an Eastern-European appearance.
The police are looking for more people who witnessed the fight or know the identity or whereabouts of the three Romanian men.
