The Royal family will spend King's Day, King Willem-Alexander's birthday on April 27th, in Maastricht next year, government information service Rijksvoorlichtingsdienst announced on Monday. Maastricht is looking forward to the visit, mayor Annemarie Penn-te Strake said to AD.

Tourists and other foreigners will remain banned from coffee shops in Maastricht. New mayor Annemarie Penn-te Strake does not want to return to the previous situation, in which the city had many problems caused by drug tourists.

The government should be more aggressive in seizing criminals' earnings. At this stage the Netherlands is only seizing about 1 percent of the estimated 9.3 billion euros earned every year through drug trafficking, arms trafficking and human trafficking.
