Some 15,000 ground workers would see their salaries frozen, and would lose one of their paid days off per year, according to a new proposal submitted by the the management of Dutch airline KLM to union representatives. The company would also like to replace some 3,000 baggage handlers and ground crews with temporary employees, the union CNV Vakmensen told newspaper De Telegraaf.

A 16 year old Rotterdam boy was arrested on Sunday after he posted threatening tweets about an Air France flight. This resulted in flight AF1741, bound for Paris, being delayed for hours on Saturday while the plane was evacuated and searched for explosives. Nothing was found.

The government of Qatar will not immediately retaliate for Dutch restrictions on flights by airlines from the Gulf States, the CEO of Qatar Airways Akbar Al Baker said. He reminded that trade is a "two-lane road", and said if the airlines does not get additional flights, Dutch companies "should not expect many commercial contracts" from Qatar government.
