Video: 8 men arrested after stabbings in Winschoten; 3 injured
Police arrested eight men Friday night after responding to a stabbing on Lekstraat in Winschoten, three of whom suffered stab or cut wounds, including a minor, police reports.
Officers arrived about 10:30 p.m. following reports of the stabbing incident. There were also reports that shots had been fired, but police said there were no indications that gunfire had occurred.
The five men arrested without injuries are a 52-year-old from Winschoten, a 21-year-old from Winschoten, a 21-year-old from Leeuwarden, a 19-year-old from Leeuwarden, and a 20-year-old from Oude Pekela.
The three wounded men, who were found at different locations and also arrested, are a 28-year-old from Leeuwarden, a 24-year-old from Winschoten, and a minor boy from Winschoten.
Police are investigating the conflict. Detectives are conducting a neighborhood canvass and checking for security camera footage of the incident. The police are asking for any witnesses or anyone with relevant footage to come forward.
