€340,000 cash, drugs, and weapons seized in Zutphen after suspected drug deal in park

Police in Zutphen found 340,000 euros in cash, drugs, and weapons in the bedroom of a 23-year-old man after he and a 19-year-old man were arrested in a park during a suspected drug deal, authorities said Sunday.

Police say the investigation started earlier in May after officers saw the 23-year-old Zutphen resident taking part in what appeared to be a secret drug transaction in a park. He was detained along with a 19-year-old man, also from Zutphen.

During the search, police found a knife, a gas-alarm pistol, a stun weapon, drugs, mobile phones, and 3,000 euros in cash.

Officers later searched the 23-year-old man’s home. In his bedroom, they discovered 340,000 euros in cash, additional drugs, and a gas-alarm pistol. Nothing was found at the home of the 19-year-old suspect.
