There is a consistent increase in the police helicopters deployment as a support to the police forces on the ground. According to police statistics acquired by BNR, the police helicopters were mobilized 2,082 times in 2015, while this year they were deployed over 3,121 times to date, an increase of about 50 percent.

The Dutch police have eight helicopters flying mainly from Schiphol Amsterdam and Rotterdam-The Hague Airport. They are mostly used over the Randstad megaregion.

Two men suspected of the armed robbery of a jewelry store in Haarlem in late February were apprehended in Helsinki, Finland in early March, Finnish newspaper Iltalehti reported on Friday. The Russian men were caught by Finnish customs officers after discovering an unusually large amount of expensive jewelry and watches with them.

Dutch police discovered 6,006 illegal pot plantations in 2014, RTL Nieuws reports. Altogether, 950 plantations were detected in Oost-Nederland region alone, which is the highest number concentrated in any one part of the country, according to the police statistics.

An Australian man has been arrested in the Philippines on suspicion of abusing at least 8 children in a horrible way. The body of a 10 year old girl, who was (probably) killed by his abuse and mistreatment, was found in a house that the suspect used to rent. Her body has been unearthed from the floor of the house for further investigation.

A manhunt is underway in Oud-Turnhout in Belgium. The police are looking for heavily armed criminals who committed an ATM bombing on an ING Bank in the Moerwijk shopping center in Breda, Omroep Brabant reports. It is not clear whether the perpetrators managed to get away with any money. 

The Belgian police confirmed that the perpetrators fled to Belgium after the bombing and fired shots at the police with a Kalashnikov during there flight. They would not give the newspaper any further details. Belgian media reports that there are two perpetrators.

During the game, the touristic centre of the city was packed. This situation was ideal for pick-pockets as wallets, cellphones and camera's were stolen from the fans.

Crime

On Sunday, the police of The Hague arrested three men and a woman in connection with the discovery of a dead man early Sunday morning. The body was laying in the courtyard of an apartment complex in the Schilderswijk, the Hague.

Police suspect that the man was killed. The identity of the victim is not yet known.
