Dutchman found dead in hotel room in Germany; Crime suspected

A 35-year-old Dutchman was found dead in a hotel room in Rees, Germany, on Sunday morning. The local police suspect a crime and have launched an investigation.

Rees is located close to the Dutch border, not far from Nijmegen. According to the German police, the man had checked into a hotel room there and failed to check out at the appropriate time the next day.

“Hotel staff found him unresponsive in the room,” the Kleve police said. “Based on the circumstances under which the 35-year-old was found, a crime is suspected.”

The police set up a homicide team to investigate. “The motive for the crime is the subject of the ongoing investigation.”
