The kidnapping was reported to police at about 7:55 p.m., according to a police statement. The victim was reported to have been taken against his will in a gray car. Officers later spotted the vehicle driving on the Leeuwarderweg in Amsterdam-Noord.
“On the IJdoornlaan, we were able to force the car to stop using a police stop signal,” police said. “The occupants were talked out of the vehicle, after which a 20-year-old man from Purmerend, an 18-year-old man from Purmerend, and an 18-year-old man from Lelystad were arrested.”
Officers discovered that the victim had suffered physical assault inside the car after the stop. He required medical treatment for his injuries.
